1. Always check the label

• Each garment has a label with symbols and instructions; it's essential to follow them, as they provide specific instructions for that fabric.
• Don't ignore this information: it's the most reliable reference.

2. Delicate washes and low temperatures

• Prefer delicate cycles in the washing machine, avoiding overly aggressive programs.
• Use moderate temperatures (e.g. ≤ 30°C) for more sensitive fabrics, such as wool or delicate blends.
• Avoid prolonged soaking: if necessary, do not exceed 5–10 minutes with cold water and gently stirring.
• When washing colored or appliquéd items, turn them inside out to protect the colors and surfaces.

3. Drying and ironing

• Avoid the dryer for most delicate fabrics: they can shrink, felt, or warp.
• Hang the garments out to air, preferably on a horizontal surface to avoid deformations (especially for wool and knitwear).
• Iron them inside out when possible and at low temperatures. Use a cloth between them if the fabric is delicate or shiny.

4. Garments with lining and double fabrics (e.g. jackets)

• For these garments, dry cleaning is almost always advisable , by going to a professional laundry.
• In any case, before proceeding, read the inside label carefully: if it says “dry clean” or “dry cleaning only”, it is important to follow these instructions.
